Synopsis

The law had been handed down from a time beyond man's memory, and none who broke it had ever survived. From the tower flowed the energy and intelligence that kept alive the city of Noi Lantis, the sole vestige of civilization left on Earth.

The Earthling, Kymri, and the beautiful invader-girl, Mirlana, already had violated a great and terrible taboo by daring to fall in love. Now they were about to commit the most fearful transgression of all.

WHEN THE MARTIANS CAME...

They were not little green men or hideous two-headed monsters. They were human beings—and their skin was black.

The few remaining inhabitants of Earth—an Earth which had suffered one violent physical catastrophe after another—huddled in a tiny colony in the lush green land that had once been Antarctica. Their skin was white.

The Martians, with their ultrascientific weapons and their contempt for the "primitive" Earthman, posed an immense and immediate threat. But there was also a growing love between one white Earthman and one black Martian woman, Kymri and Mirlena. And love can change anything... perhaps...
