As panic and infighting cripple the baronies, Ryan Cawdor and his warrior survivalists must find a way to unite them befire the human race is wiped off the face of the earth.
In the Deathlands, the future is just beginning.
A mewling drew Kaa's attention
One of the muties was giving birth. The piebald lord knelt and picked up the newborn one. For a moment he dangled the blood-bathed infant by its umbilical cord.
Kaa pressed the baby to its mother's breast, and it began to nurse at once. After a few hours of steady feeding, the creature would uncouple from the nipple. The little mutant would be able to run and hunt the moment its feed touched the earth.
By the time they reached the ville, many hundreds more would have been birthed, nursed, fattened and ready.
Soon Kaa's army would number in the thousands—and it was only the beginning.
