Synopsis

Ace

Scattered over the earth, small isolated settlements of humanity lived in a state of semi-barbarity; the knowledge and skills, the glory that had been Terra's in the golden age of the League of Worlds lost of ruthless conquerors.

Each time a group of Earthmen began to rise from the ashes, the Shing, the ravagers of Terra, the Liars, would crush them out.

Only one man could stand against them, and that man had alien amber eyes. Before he dared oppose the enemy he had to prove to humanity, and to himself that he was not a tool for the Shing...

Ace

He was a fully grown man, alone in a dense forest, with no trail to show where he had come from and no memory to tell who—or what he was.

His eyes were not human eyes.

The forest people took him in and raised him almost as a child, teaching him to speak, training him in forest lore, giving him all the knowledge they had. But they could not solve the riddle of his past, and at last he had to set put on a quest to Es Toch, the City of the Shing, the Liars of Earth, the Enemy of Mankind.

There he would find out the truth about himself... and universe of danger.

Panther - 1973

One thousand years after a war of the worlds...

Scattered here and there, small isolated groups of humanity live in a state of semi-barbarism. Lost are the skills, science and knowledge that had been Earth's in the golden age of the League of Worlds. And each time a colony of Earthmen tries to rekindle the embers of a half-forgotten technology, the Shing, mind-lying despoilers of Terra, crush them out.

Only one man dars stand against the Shing's hunger for Earth conquest, and that man—the alien with the unhuman amber eyes—first has to prove to paranoid humanity that he himself is not a tool of the hated Shing enemy...
